How To Make Trini Sardines
Natalie looks on in shock as Dev shows us how he prepares his “not your regular” Sardines.
1 tin sardines in oil, drained
1 chopped garlic clove
1 tsp chopped chive
1 tsp chopped chadon beni
1 chopped pimento
½ tsp chopped scotch bonnet pepper
Half of 1 lime
Half cup vegetable oil
Pinch of Salt & pinch of pepper
In a metal plate or bowl, add sardines and mash the sardine with a fork.
Squeeze lime on the sardine mash, mix well.
Place all dry ingredients on the mash except for salt and pepper, and do not mix. Place each
ingredient next to each other, not on top of each other.
Heat the oil until slightly smoking.
Carefully pour the oil over the ingredients, “chunkay” style.
Mix well, add salt and pepper, mix again.
