Flavorful Christmas Rice Recipe by Shaun, Michelle & Gizelle ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น

In the kitchen today Gizelle and Michelle help Shaun prepare a pot of flavorful Christmas Rice:

Yield โ€“ 12 to 15 Servings


Margarine โ€“ 4 oz

Turmeric Powder โ€“ 1 tbsp

Cinnamon Stick โ€“ 1

Salt โ€“ 1 ยฝ tbsp

Black Pepper โ€“ ยพ tbsp

Raisins โ€“ 1 cup

Onion โ€“ 2 cups (finely chopped)

Pimento โ€“ 1 cup (finely chopped)

Garlic โ€“ ยผ cup (finely chopped)

Carrots โ€“ 2 cups (shredded)

Corn Kernels โ€“ 2 cups

Sliced Mushrooms โ€“ 1 cup

White Parboiled Rice โ€“ 3 lbs


1. Heat large pot over high heat.

2. Once heated, add margarine.

3. Once margarine is melted and bubbling around the edges, add turmeric, cinnamon, salt, black pepper & raisins.

4. Reduce heat to low and allow flavorings to steep in margarine (about 2 minutes).

5. Raise heat to medium, add onion and pimento and allow to cook until translucent (about 2 minutes).

6. Add garlic, carrots, corn & mushrooms.

7. Mix until all your ingredients are evenly incorporated.

8. Add rice and mix until evenly incorporated.

9. Cover with water.

10. Raise heat to high, bring mixture to a boil before reducing heat to a simmer.

11. Once simmering, covering and allow rice to cook (about 15 to 20 minutes).

12. Check for doneness and taste for salt.

13. Enjoy!
