Trini Vegetable Fried Rice Recipe

YIELD: 6-8 Servings




Uncooked Rice - 2 cups
Sesame Oil - 1/8 to 1/4 cup
Minced Ginger - 1 tbsp
Minced Garlic - 1 tbsp
Diced Carrots - 1 cup
Chopped Chive - 1/4 cup
Chopped Celery - 1 cup
Green Peas - 1 cup
Soy Sauce - 1/8 cup or more if desired
Salt - 2 tsp or To Taste



  1. Heat medium size pot over high heat.

  2. Pour in 6 cups of water, cover and bring to a rolling boil.

  3. Add rice to boiling water and allow to cook.

  4. Once cooked, strain and cool with cold water.

  5. TIP: Boil the rice the day before and chill overnight for best results. 

  6. Heat a sauté pan/fry pan/wok over medium heat.

  7. Add sesame oil.

  8. Once oil is heated, add ginger and garlic and allow to cook for 2 minutes.

  9. Add carrots, chive, celery and peas and allow to cook for 2 minutes.

  10. Add rice and mix until fully incorporated.

  11. Add soy sauce and salt.

  12. Continue to cook, mixing continuously until the rice is hot.

  13. Enjoy!
