Chicken Sugarcane Drumsticks Recipe

YIELD - 12 Drumsticks

 

INGREDIENTS

 

Sugarcane Stalk Internodes - 2 (3-5 inch piece)

Minced Chicken - 1 lb

Mrs Dash Onion & Herb - 2 tbsp

Black Pepper - 1 tsp

Breadcrumbs - 1/8 cup

Celery - 1/4 cup (Finely Chopped)

Eggs - 1 large

 

METHOD

  1. Remove the sugarcane stalk internodes from the knots.

  2. Using a knife, remove the outer layer of each internode.

  3. Wash internodes in water.

  4. Cut in half, then divide each half into three pieces.

  5. Set aside.

  6. In a bowl, add chicken, Mrs Dash Onion & Herb, black pepper, breadcrumbs, celery and eggs.

  7. Mix together until fully incorporated.

  8. Cover, place in refrigerator and let marinate for 4-6 hours.

  9. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  10. Using your hand, gently stick 1 1/2 tbsp of chicken onto the top half of the sugar cane stick.

  11. Place sticks on a greased baking dish.

  12. Cover and bake for 10 minutes.

  13. Then broil until golden brown.

 

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CAN ALSO BE PREPARED ON YOUR GRILL. SIMPLY BRUSH WITH OIL & GRILL FOR 5 MINUTES.*

 

VARIATIONS

 

Minced Lamb - 1 lb

Mrs Dash Onion & Herb - 2 tbsp

Rosemary - 1 sprig

Black Pepper - 1 tsp

Egg -1 Large

Breadcrumbs - 1/8 cup

 

Minced Pork - 1 lb

Mrs Dash Onion & Herb - 1 tbsp

Dried Sage - 2 tsp

Egg - 1 Large

Breadcrumbs - 1/8 cup
