Mauby Recipe

INGREDIENTS 

 

Base Concentrate:

Mauby Bark - 2 oz

Bay Leaf - 1

Aniseed - 1

Cinnamon Stick - 1 

Cardamom Pods - 10

Water for Boiling - 4 Liters

 

Final Mix:

Water for Mixing - 3 Liters

Base Concentrate - 1 Liter

Sugar - 1 1/2 Cups  

 

 

METHOD

 

Base Concentrate:

  1. Add mauby bark, bay leaf, aniseed, cinnamon and cardamom to pot. 

  2. Add water and let boil over medium heat for 30 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and let steep for 6-8 hours or overnight.

Final Mix:

  1. In a juice mug, add water and sweet with sugar.

  2. Once sugar is fully dissolved add base concentrate.

  3. Please note that the concentrate is very bitter, so add in moderation*

  4. Taste as you add until it reached your desired consistency.
