Flour - 4 Cups (Sifted)
Yeast - 1 Tsp
Baking Powder - 1/2 Tsp
Saffron (Turmeric) Powder - 3/4 Tsp
Salt - 1 1/2 Tsp
Chadon Beni - 12 Leaves
Garlic - 4 Cloves
Hot Pepper - To Taste
Water - 1 3/4 Cups
Oil - For Frying
Mix flour, yeast and baking powder in a bowl.
Add saffron and salt and mix well.
Finely chop or grind chadon beni, garlic and hot pepper then add to water.
Add liquid mixture to flour mixture, 1/3 at a time until a thick paste is formed.
Cover and let rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Heat oil to 350°F.
Coat two tablespoons in oil.
Using the oiled spoons, scoop the batter into the oil and fry until golden brown.
Serve with tamarind sauce.
