Rhett Mc Carthy heads to Tobago for an epic family adventure filled with food, beaches, culture, water sports, and unforgettable island experiences. 🇹🇹

The trip begins at Piarco International Airport in Trinidad, where Rhett shares the vacation itinerary. July–August is school holiday time in Trinidad and Tobago, making a Tobago vacation a must for families.

After landing in Tobago, Rhett picked up a rental car from First Choice Auto Rentals, the go-to service for Foodie Nation’s crew. First stop: Buccoo Beach, home to Danny’s Inflatable Water Park. As the sun set, dinner was grilled chicken and fries from Kafta’s Grill in Crown Point, dressed the classic Trini way with garlic sauce, ketchup, and pepper.

Day one kicked off with a traditional Tobagonian breakfast at Rosie’s Bakery in Bon Accord—Coconut Bake and Smoked Herring. Next, a scenic drive to Castara Bay with a quick photo stop at Mount Dillon Lookout. On the beach, the group joined Progress 2 Boat Tours for snorkeling and exploring at Cotton Bay. Lunch was Royal Castle fried chicken back on the west side, followed by a sunset swim at Store Bay. Dinner was at The Fairways Restaurant & Lounge at Tobago Plantations, near the Magdalena Grand Hotel.

Day two started at Stonehaven Bay in Black Rock, where Rhett and family experienced seine fishing, a traditional Tobago practice. Lunch was at Sylvia’s Restaurant in Bon Accord, featuring local favorites like oil down, coo coo, callaloo with pigtail, oxtail stew, ground provision, and lentil peas. The afternoon brought water sports at Waterholics—jet skis, kayaks, towables, and reef tours at Pigeon Point Heritage Park. The group later visited Mount Irvine Beach, before wrapping up the evening at Big Dawg Skating Rink & Sports Bar in Bon Accord for skating, bull riding, party games, and wings.

Final Day: Breakfast at Omkar Doubles in Canaan, freshly made on the spot. The family closed out the trip with a final swim at Store Bay before flying back home to Trinidad.

From beaches and boat tours to local cuisine and water sports, Rhett’s Tobago family vacation shows why the sister isle is the ultimate destination for fun, food, and culture in Trinidad and Tobago.
