How To Make (Vegan) Mushroom & Black Bean Burgers 🇹🇹 Foodie Nation

Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients:
1 cup Black BeansCooked, drained, and mashed
1 cup MushroomsFinely chopped
½ cup Onion Finely chopped
1 tbsp Garlic Minced
½ cup Breadcrumbs Or use panko
2 tbsp Cassava Flour or Cornmeal For binding
1 tbsp Green Seasoning
½ tsp Smoked Paprika
1 tsp Soy Sauce For depth of flavour
1 tbsp Olive Oil For cooking
TT Salt
TT Black Pepper Freshly ground
Method:
1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions, garlic, and mushrooms until softened and moisture has evaporated. Cool slightly.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed black beans, mushroom mixture, breadcrumbs, cassava flour (or cornmeal), green seasoning, smoked paprika, and soy sauce.
3. Season with salt and black pepper. Mix well until the mixture holds together (add more cassava flour if needed).
4. Divide mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
5. Heat a lightly oiled skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until firm and browned.
6. Serve on homemade buns with pepper sauce aioli and toppings of choice.
