Purple Kush Kush & Tomato Stew Channa Recipe at Wa Samaki in Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹


Maleah, the resident Chef at Wa Samaki Ecosystems, returns to give us a taste of what their rocket stove can do, with a hearty Purple Kush Kush Yam Mash and Tomato Stewed Channa/Chickpea lunch.


Here is the full list of ingredients used in the recipe video:


Tomato Stewed Chickpeas

1 onion, chopped

3 pimentoes, finely chopped

4 tomatoes, chopped

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp paprika

2 cups fresh cashew milk/coconut milk

2 cups/1 can chickpeas, cooked & drained

Sweet leaf/Bhagi leaves, chopped

Salt to taste


Purple Kush Kush Mash

3 cups purple kush kush, peeled & cubed

1 onion

1 pimento

Grapeseed oil

Seal salt
