Currants - 1 lb
Brown Sugar - 1/4 cup
Cinnamon Powder - 1/2 tsp
Nutmeg Powder - 1 Dash
Mixed Essence - 1 tsp
French Pastry - 2 lbs
In a bowl, mix together currants, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and essence
Preheat oven to 350°F.
On a floured surface, roll dough into a square measuring 12 inches by 12 inches.
Brush off excess flour.
Evenly spread currants mixture.
Begin to roll in the dough as illustrated, ensuring to brush off excess flour.
Roll the dough as tight as possible.
Be sure to tuck in the ends when you’re finished.
Place roll onto a greased baking dish.
Brush top with water and sprinkle brown sugar.
Using your paring knife, puncture the center of the roll.
Place in oven and bake 45 to 50 minutes.
